Event Details

Arvind Kumar is Senior Vice President of Information Solutions for the Risk Management Foundation of the Harvard Medical Institutions (CRICO/RMF). In that capacity, he is responsible for strategy and development of a collaborative technology portfolio for Harvard-affiliated hospitals and physician focused on promoting safety and protecting providers. Mr. Kumar is leading an effort to architect a comprehensive Service Oriented Architecture based MedMal platform for CRICO-insured organizations.

 

Prior to joining CRICO /RMF, Arvind was the Senior Vice President and Managing Partner at Xerox/ACS Healthcare Solutions and a member of the firm’s executive team responsible for the management consulting group.  His corporate responsibilities included strategic business planning in the US, international business development, and delivery of services world-wide. 

 

Mr. Kumar’s primary areas of expertise are operations and information systems strategy development and systems implementations in large academic and community-based hospitals and physician groups.  He has experience in developing innovative process and technology models for ambulatory care at GE IDX and as CIO of a major pediatric academic medical center.  He has also delivered healthcare solutions in Europe and constructed service delivery architecture in India for clients from the US.

   

Arvind holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Madras, India and a MS in Engineering Management from Northeastern University, Boston, MA. He has over 20 years of experience in healthcare operations and information systems in a wide range of executive positions with providers, vendors and suppliers.  He also holds the position of Fellow of the Healthcare Information Management Systems Society and is active in national committees. He is an adjunct faculty at Northeastern University’s Masters in Healthcare Informatics Program.
